In the autumn of 2017, we opened our community workshop in downtown Budapest, which has now grown into a creative studio. In addition to teaching, we now also design and create - in the spirit of sustainable fashion. 

We started by running workshops, where the industrial side of garment making became a recurring theme: while sewing together, we talked about mass production, we reflected on the conditions of sweatshop workers, the quality of the raw materials, and the environmental impact of their production. We feel the love and care that the people who come to us to sew put into their clothes, and we see the process of becoming aware of the work and effort that goes into the piles of clothes they keep in their wardrobes.

 

Sustainability has been one of our core values from the beginning, and these experiences have reinforced it: what can we do together to reverse the polluting, worker-exploiting processes that have become commonplace in the fashion industry?

That is why we no longer just organise clothing workshops, but also events and lectures that raise awareness of the importance of conscious shopping, providing useful advice and support. 

For us, the key is to share inspiring ideas, creativity, the will to do, and the appreciation of small steps. Is it possible to do good for the planet while doing good for ourselves and having fun? Of course!

To make sure that as many people as possible believe this and that we are constantly improving, we have joined national and international organisations; we are looking for talented designers and projects that are working towards a more sustainable, greener future. And all the while, we're excited to see where the pony world takes us next!
